How do I paint a white laminate bathroom vanity?

I have a white contractor grade bathroom vanity that is about 16 years old. It has had very little use so is in solid shape except for the “paint” white laminate is turning a yellow color. I don’t want to take it out since I have a nice granite top on it. Is there any way to paint it to freshen up the look. I still want it to keep a timeless look so I don’t want to do anything to drastic. Thank you for any suggestions.

Hi Deborah, yes you can most definitely paint a laminate bathroom vanity. I painted a laminate dresser a few years ago with just regular latex paint, but I did prime with a high adhesion primer first. It's still look great .

Take one of the cabinet doors to the paint department of the home improvement store and ask them to select paint/stains and other finishes and application tools that will work for your kitchen. They have the best selection, the most up-to-date materials and most important, the most informative sales staff to get you what you need for a professional job.

I agree with Tuula, painting it would be the way to go. Make sure the paint you go with has the gloss you want or the top coat has the gloss you want.

Tub and Tile Kit at Home Depot should spruce it up, as these are designed to spruce up porcelain or fiberglass.
