    Hi Teresa,

If it is the kind that has a long flexible tube to it, take it out of the bracket and let it set in a 50/50 vinegar water solution in a pail on the bottom of the tub.

If it is the non-removable, make the same solution and put it in a sturdy plastic bag. Place a durable rubber band over the shower head where it comes out of the wall and cover the shower head with the solution in the bag. Slide the rubber band over the opening of the plastic bag to hold it in place.

    Let it soak.

I agree with Calvin: Soak in CLR. About every 6 months maximum. You will likely also need teflon tape to reinstall the showerhead after you remove it.

Due this aspect, I said 'screw this', And bought myself a 5 speed massaging wand showerhead on Amazon.

If I am going to have to reinstall a Showerhead, I may as well reinstall a Coupling Valve, and a Water Efficient Brand New 5 Speed wand too.
