    Vinegar. Nothing abrasive.

Vinegar will not remove the baked on food. There is a cleaner for it found in most stores. Also the new Scrub Daddy and Scrub Mommy cleaning pads work well. I have a cook top and once food falls on a hot burner there is nothing you can do until the stove cools down and by that time the food is really baked on. Try the Scrub Daddy sponge. Works the best I have found so far and I have tried a lot.

Rita...I like Weiman for mine. I also use a utility scraper once the Weiman softens the worst spots.

Place wet dryer sheets over the glass. Keep them wet and leave them for a couple of hours, depending on how dirty the stove top is. I also use a single edge razor blade to remove cooked on debris.

I use Bartenders Friend in a powder form. Works great and does not scratch. Yes, I have used a razor blade very carefully and it does help.

Bar Keepers friend in the powder form. Works great and a single edge razor blade when really messy with my cooking.

Here is a simple overnight method that has never failed me. Liberally sprinkle BarKeeper's Friend over the tough areas-don't skimp. Place a triple layer of paper towels over the entire surface. Very slowly pour boiling water over the paper towels until they are wet, but don't flood the area. Leave overnight. In the morning, again slowly pour boiling water over the area and them "scrub" with the paper towels. Then use clean damp paper towels to rinse and clean the top. If any burnt on residue is left, you can 1: use a non-scratch scrubbing pad and dampened BarKeeper's to finish cleaning, or 2: repeat the overnight process.
