It depends on what you want your final results to be.

One way to go is OrangleGlo which will clean, nourish, and shine.

Another option is Old English Scratch Cover which comes in 2 shades and will help to camoflauge minor scratches.

You can go extreme and sand it down then stain and seal.

Taking off any top coat or sealant that now exists using fine steel wool and then clean using TSP or denatured alcohol, then put a new sealant.

Old English brand furniture cleaner for light woods cleans and polishes in one step, adding a slight color to cover small scratches and blemishes. It also comes in a dark woods version. The only drawback is that it is flammable, so use in well-ventilated space.

Lemon oil works well and smells great . I know there is a product called rejuvinate , for wood , I have never used it , but might be worth looking into it .

I have used Rejuvinate (purchased at Home Depot) on my very dull looking 30 year old golden oak kitchen cabinets. It is a fabulous product & would certainly use it again.

It doesn't look like the wood is in bad condition so I would use the Old English. I use it on my end tables and dining room set and have had no problems. :-)

Mayonaisse works too! Any oil will. But, if you are looking to refinish them, clean them really well with TSP, and apply tung oil.

I would use the lemon oil. It cost about $6 for a bottle and it will be like giving that old wood a reviving drink. If you don't like what it does then you are no worse off because it doesn't change the finish. For scratches I use a set of furniture markers. They are basically 3 felt tip markers that spread stain into a damaged spot. I always use the lightest one first and if necessary work up to the darker shades.
