i have a stainless exhaust hood in my kitchen and would like to cover it in wood to warm up the look. The top part is covered in tile,( under the wreath) Any suggestions on how to do this. Can they be glues up or does a frame need to be constructed to attach the wood to.

Here are a few of Hometalk projects that I think will help you:

Thanks for all your help. I truly appreciate it. Leaning towards gluing very thin barn wood veneer to the hood. I will be keeping my fingers crossed it works out. 😁

At least you have a somewhat attractive cover. Sometimes we have base metal ducting at Habitat houses that we need to cover. I glued up a 3-sided MDF panel that slid to wall. It was painted to match wall color. It can be fastened in place using a construction adhesive of caulking. It is not going anywhere.

I misunderstood your situation. I thought you were talking about an exhaust line that went to ceiling. I just saw the vent installed in the ceiling. I would take off the cover, clean it well, and spray paint it to match the ceiling color. It will be much less noticeable and a cheaper fix.

How about a beautiful wood veneer. This very thin wood could be framed like your cabinet doors or not trimmed out at all for a more modern look. Narrow front edge could be covered with veneer or remain as stainless, as well as the sides. I don't see space for added wood at the sides but veneer being so thin would probably work!

Thanks. I am still in the planning stage and I am looking at what would be similar to veneer but a barn wood.

Think I may try gluing them on and see how that goes. I appreciate your help
