Replacing existing stairs or installing new stairs?
If you're adding a new set of stairs and you don't know what you're doing, cutting stringers can be very difficult to get right. If the stringers are already there, and you're just adding treads and risers, it shouldn't be to difficult.
You can purchase stringers, steps, and risers at the Homecenter. Make sure you check local codes.
