What kind of plants grow in the shade?
I currently live in zone 3 rural Maine, near the Canadian border. I have one side of my house that is shaded most of the day, from a large Maple tree. Will Hosta grow there in the shade or do they need sun as well? What kinds of plants grow well in the shade? I have Begonias that flower all winter and summer long inside the house in a well lit window but, havent had luck with them out doors in the shade..!! I could use some advice. Thanks..!!

The best thing to do is go to your local nursery and ask your questions. They'll be better able to give you advice on what grows best in your climate and conditions.
Hostas will grow in shade, but I agree, check with your local nursery for the best plants for your area.
