I decided to upgrade a Dollar Store Clock.I have updated quite a few clock in previous post and you can check out some of them here, here and here.

As you can see the clock was pretty plain and basic and I wanted to add bright pops of color to it.The colors I decided to use on the clock were red, green and yellow.I specifically used Texture paints which are so much fun to use and I have used these on  Outdoor Pots and in my  Dining Room to transform a Buffet Table.

But to get that amazing textured finish you need to use Palette Knives. The clock that I chose had a glass on top which needed to be removed in order for me to paint it.When that was removed I first used the Green Texture Paint and went around the entire clock lifting the palette knife as I painted so to create the texture. Then I added on the Yellow Texture Paint.

When the final two colors of the Texture Paint were also on the clock I then proceeded to paint the Rim of the clock all white.I also painted the Inner rim of the clock in Gold. And there you have it.All Done.

Do you need to let the first color of paint dry before you started with the next color and so on? Looks awesome by the way!

  • I love the texture! I am curious about the clock you found. I'm looking for something similar. Where did you find it?
