Any ideas on what I could do with this wall. I feel like I need something on either side of the television. Suggestions??

I would make it a photo or framed art wall. Use smaller black frames either side of the TV and above to frame the TV, which inturn will blend the TV into its surroundings. I would probably go further up the wall and include a frame in each of the decorative panels, and one under each too. Plan the set out with cutting paper to the size of your TV and frames to make it easier.

I always like a large plant--and the light in your room looks perfect for them.

I agree with C Crow. You have a lot going on there (beneath the TV) and your walls are truly cool. Large plants in the corner and behind the left chair would be awesome.

You see the long horizontal frame? I would make a couple of those on each side of the t/v. perpendicular. Perhaps also put something as a decorative design of a contrasting color in the middle of all of the frame squares as well, say like a lace doily design. This will give it more depth and eye appeal.

Why not get your favorite family photos, print them in black and white, frame them in a simple black frame with a medium depth white or white on white mat. Do one or two on each side, then you can see your favorite pictures all the time and the black and white won’t compete or distract from your tv.

how about a colorful tapestry behind the tv?

It would be helpful to see the entire room. You cannot decorate with seeing one wall.

HI Janet. Here is what the rest of the room looks like.

No more frames! Move your TV to the left and set a fake tree or a big plant on the right side?

I agree with Pat. It’s a beautiful wall for sure, but adding more box-like shapes just seems like it would be an overwhelming geometry teacher’s wall. Unless you are a geometry teacher- if so, go for it!

Looking at your wall it looks like you divided the space between your furniture and the long horizontal panel above. To my eye your TV looks too high, it is almost as high as the top of the door frame. It would be better to lower the TV into the room so it doesn't look like it is floating so high above. After that you can fill the surrounding area with things like your "Blessed" sign, a shelf or two, a large faced clock, and a tall plant. Because you have all those right angles above, I suggest you keep the sharp angles to a minimum, and to keep it modern try not to add a lot of color into the mix.
