Make sure to use a glue that can withstand a little heat. I’ve always used either hot glue because it sticks quickly or tacky glue with clips to hold in pace until it dries.
Try decoupage with paper napkins......use ModPodge [PVA] to paint all over the shade then while still tacky peel open the napkin.....you only need the top layer with the pattern on......and lay on the lamp shade......wait overnight to dry then cover with a dilute layer of ModPodge to seal.......... these look great [with a little bit of practice] as you can get napkins in all sorts of patterns to match your decor.....and its so cheap to do !!!!....enjoy !
