How do I redo a dinning room table?

My dining room table has a big scratch in it I want to distress that dining room table like painted or something to make it look real pretty or even stain it. I need pictures and instructions do you know how to do it.

A simple fix may be Old English Scratch Cover. You may want to try that first. You also have some good advice above.

Hi

There are a number of steps you need to take.

Few steps:

1) Prepare the wood,

2) remove old paint and

3) fill any indentations

4) sand down old wood

5) Add first coat, either a primer or a base coat

6) Add main paint

7) sand down softly

8) Add the second layer.

this should be enough otherwise another sand down and final coat
