Easy Spring Planter

Bringing a bit of spring indoors while the temperatures are still saying it is winter is as easy as this spring planter

I started with a soft-sided basket that I already had, lined it with a plastic bag, and added a glass bowl to fit just perfectly inside.

At the market I picked up small pots of tulip blooms, mini daffodil blooms, hyacinth and primrose.

I took them out of the individual plastic pots and arranged them in the basket, loosening the soil and roots as I went along. I started with the tall tulips first, arranging them along the back of the basket.

Next, I added the mini daff's to one side and the hyacinth on the other side.

Try to choose plants that have tight buds or at least have some blooms that are not yet fully open.

Finally, I tucked the primrose, the lowest of the blooms right at the front of the basket.

I used a bit of potting soil to fill in around the plants.

Don't forget to tuck the plastic bag into the basket and gently cover it with a bit of soil.

As easy as that, you have a little bit of spring inside!

Suggested materials:
  • Potted spring bulbs   (farmer's market)
  • Wicker basket   (already had)
  • Glass or plastic bowl to line basket   (already had)
