The one product I've found that removes all kinds of greases and oils has been Greased Lightning. I first began using it on nonporous surfaces, but found it works well on clothing too.

If the oil has been "set" in the dryer, you may never get it out. A napkin in the lap works well, too... :)

.... lean over your plate. I have a hubby that does this to his shirts, not fun trying to get out. I fail.

You ladies are funny. You've sort of taken the stance of the comedian who asks why so many inquire about how to get rid of ring around the collar, when all the hubby has to do is "wash his neck".

Greased Lightening is the only thing I have found to be effective on grease/oil stains. I spray it on the grease, roll the shirt up and let sit for about 30 minutes, then launder as usual. You can find this product even at Dollar Stores. It's great.

Greased Lighting IS great....reminds me of the old 409 and even (I swear) took out black ball point pen when I treated hubby's shirt immediately and rinsed in in the sink in cold water and tehen retreated and put it in the washer....HOWEVER for something that has been through the dryer...I have personally used GOJO (White grease looking hand cleaner that mechanics use) purchased at walmart in the automotive section...and gotten out that thick deisel grease stain from my hubby's shirts after it had been washed and dried.... Letting you know that after you wash it to get out the stain, you have to rewash to get out the smell of the gojo....yeah it's a pain...but if you really like that item, it's worth it.... HOWEVER, can't help but agree with the ladies that said, use a napkin....LOL

Use peroxide on any protein stain, ie oil, then spray it with Awesome, it's an inexpensive cleaner sold at Big Lots, takes the stains out, even red wine. Just toss it in the normal wash. Also a hand cleaner M30 works great too.

The sooner you can treat the stain the better, but I've always found that sime Dawn Dish Liquid works the absolute BEST on just about any and all oily or greasy stains.
