  • Dawn dish soap and warm water. Murphy's Oil Soap works well too. What type of cabinets do you have? Stained? Painted? I wipe my cabinets down on a regular basis.

Any cabinets can be cleaned with Dawn dish detergent, vinegar, and water. Use a mix of equal parts vinegar and water. Then add a teaspoon of Dawn, mix well and put in a spray bottle. Spray and wipe down cabinets.

I like blue dawn in hot water then murphy' soap oil. The blue dawn is a great grease cutter and the murphy soap oil is good for the wood.

For "gunk" clean with a paste made from baking soda & white vinegar scrubbing with a child's toothbrush.

After that, clean with furniture polish.

Avoid water and remember if you use Murphy's Oil Soap it will have to rinsed afterwards.

  • I usually use TSP substitute powder in a spray bottle, spray it on, wipe off with a rag. Grease is gone with no effort and the cabinets are clean.

    • The brand I picked up is Sunnyside though I don't think brands matter much in this instance. Whatever your local home improvement store carries and generally it's a 1 lb. bag so you get a lot of cleaning bang for your buck.

Liquid fabric softer. Apply with soft toothbrush. wait 10 minutes. Rinse brush. Take same brush wet it. Brush over the area again periodically dipping brush in warm water to remove the build-up. Scrub problem area. Then take a warm cloth and wipe it clean. Don't leave on longer than 20 minutes or it may stain depending on the type of food and varnish.

Don't ever use pure vinegar on wood. it will eat through the wood. Permanently. ( I speak from experience )

Liquid softener is also great for cleaning up white sneakers and tennis shoes. Make them look as white as the day you bought them.

To clean wood cabinets with Murphy's oil soap, you can follow these steps:

    1. Dilute the Murphy's oil soap with water according to the instructions on the bottle.
    2. Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the solution and wring out the excess liquid.
    3. Gently wipe the wood cabinets with the damp cloth, making sure not to oversaturate the wood.
    4. Wipe the cabinets again with a clean, damp cloth to remove any soap residue.
    5. Dry the cabinets thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth.
