Hey Debra, we tried three different ways and picked what we thought worked best but you should check them all out here- https://www.charlestoncrafted.com/2017/06/01/three-ways-clean-glass-electric-stove/

If It’s a glass top you can scrape it off with a razor blade. I do it all the time.

I’ll let my daughter do the razor since I’m not as stable. Thx for your help!

Gas or electric? Brushed aluminum or glass or stainless steel? Stains should not be showing up unless neglected too long. Tomato stains necessitate immediate removal.

Try Bon Ami cleanser of Bar Keeper's Friend Cleanser. Your stove's paperwork should have included a section on cleaning.

It’s electric but a rental in an almost 3 million dollar home. I started cooking on it a few days ago but the cleaning made me use the crockpot 😜 The builder didn’t leave the paperwork but I think it’s glass. It’s so frustrating. Thx for your help

Have you tried leaving soaked paper towels with any of the cleaners just sit for a while? Maybe mix the vinegar and dawn and use that for the soak? It might soften it up enough to scrap it off. I do like bar keepers friend, too.

If this is a new stove you should have a book that came with it. There should be cleaning instructions and information of how to clean and things not to use on your new stove. There might be a specific cleaner that you should be using.

Yes, if you are renting it is critical to know how to maintain everything in the house. Good luck!

The realtor needs to contact the landlord. If the landlord would find a stain they can't instantly remove, he may attempt to retain your security deposit. It was thoughtless of him not to leave you with cleaning advice for all materials in the home.

I totally agree but everyone seen like they will get to it soon. I am trying to be patient since it’s a little over a week we have lived here. Thx

Is this in the oven or the top burners?

There should be a brand name and model number on your stove somewhere. I located the model number on mine underneath the knob. Look up the brand name on line should be able to get a phone number or information about your stove.
