How do I get rid of a garage roof leak?

Hi Howard! If the roofer is good, he should guarantee his work. Refer to your contract from the repair and contact him or her to arrange a meeting to check it out. I'm not sure what he inserted under the the siding, but, materials should be such as flashing. Good luck!

I cannot figure out why the contractor would take off the siding to fix the roof. It is possible he did not line the shingles up properly during installation or put down a water (vapour) barrier before placing the shingles. Call him back and make him do it properly. He should have put a drip edge on the bottom of the roof near the eaves so that the water runs off as opposed to backing up and creating damage. The shingles should be hanging over all edges by at least one inch.
