MOISTURE MADE SMALL SECTION OF PAINT CURL UP AND PEEL OFF, FROM THE CEILING, NEAR AN OUTSIDEWALL. THE ROOF HAS BEEN REPLACED SO DAMPNESS IS ELIMINATED. SURFACES ARE SMOOTH BUT BARE PATCH IS LOWER IN OLDE PAINTED AREA . ANY SUGGESTIONS HOW TO FILL UP PAINTLESS PATCH SO IT IS LEVEL WITH EXISTING FINISHED SURFACE ? YES, I WILL BE REPAINTING THE ENTIRE ROOM IN A MONTH OR TWO..

  • I think you could use a little spackle and then sand it smooth when it dries, Jim.

Hi, you can use drywall compound and a very wide putty knife to spread a layer over the dip, light sanding to smooth it, use a flat or matte finish ceiling paint and it will hide most flaws as well.

I would sand it first, to make sure all of the loose paint is off. Then spackle and sand again.
