How would I drywall without having to replace the ceiling?

I trying to drywall my basement(currently concrete wall). However, it already has a drop ceiling.

Well you do need to build stud walls, insulate, then drywall. What I would do. Remove the ceiling tiles from perimeter of the room leaving the center intact. Then I would remove the angle grid off the walls, cut back the grid where I removed the tiles. Finish the walls with studs, insulation, and drywall. Then I would rebuild the grid and install the ceiling tiles. Then mud, sand, prime, and paint the walls.

I'm not sure why you can't drywall and leave the ceiling as is. You can add a molding to the top of the wall when you get the drywall finished.
