How to take an old pot and make a planter out of it?
Howcan I make a flower planter out of an old stainless steel pot. I got it from the salvation army. Its in good condition I Must say.

Hi Tyree, The main thing is to drill holes in the bottom for drainage. After that, it is just like planting in anything else. Here is a video to show you how to drill stainless steel with a regular drill bit.

You want to make sure there's drainage for your plants. You can achieve this by either putting a layer of pebbles/rocks on the bottom of the pot, or by drilling some holes in the bottom of the pot to let water run out. Other than that, just treat it like any other planter and fill it with dirt/plants!
Hi Tyree, all you need to do is drill a few holes into the bottom on the silver pot for drainage and then plant your plants as you would in any other planter.
If you aren't going to drill holes in the bottom for drainage , put a couple of inches of rock in the bottom of the pot before adding soil , this will serve as drainage , just don't over water your plants .
