Can you put subway tile directly over existing old square tiles without removing it

    Hi Beckymbuck,

    You can, although you'll need to use an epoxy adhesive. Also remember that this will affect the thickness of the new wall so electrical plugs may not fit properly and the thickness of the new wall will show against any window trim.     Use Eco Prim on top of the old tile. It is a primer that dries with a cement texture. Add new tile on top. For outlets, you can add a spacer behind receptacle and add the difference in depth of new tile.
