How do I install board and batten utilizing metal studs?

My home has metal studs and my hubby is concerned that it will be too difficult to attach board and batten to these studs. Will I have to use screws? Or would a nail gun work to attach to the studs?

How thick is your board and batten. I suspect you want to end up thin enough so your wall doesn't stick out further than the baseboard and the trim on the doors and window,
I once did a room with 1/4" headboard and first applied horizontal during strip, but the strips were cut from 1/4" plywood and glue to the wall. You could countersink a screw at the stud locations because drywall screws are intended for metal studs. Nailing (maybe with some glue) into the furring strips should hold the board and batten securly .
This system will work, but it will be a bear if you (or someone) wants to remove it at a future date.

Hello Marla! You could use construction adhesive, however if you ever want to take the board and batten off you will damage your walls. You can use the nailer to hold the boards in place while the adhesive dries.
