Sometimes when the element in your water heater is about to go out or it it is buried in lime scale/sludge your water will get really hot. We have a lot of lime in our water and have had to replace the heating element in our water heater and occasionally clean the sludge out. You can use a shop vac to clean it out of your water heater too. Having a water softener does help but you still may have issues.

Hi Frank, sorry you are having problems with your hot water. Hope this will be helpful. Be very careful hot water can cause severe burns. The cause is likely a malfunctioning water heaterthermostat. If the water coming from your faucet is too hot, it is most likely due to a malfunctioning thermostat on your hot water heater. ... The TPR valve is there to release excess pressure from the water tank if thewater gets too hot.Dec 2, 2018
