How do I repair my AC unit?

It's been about a month since I ran my air and it was working fine. I have an outside unit. I turned it on today ,it started running the fan at the top of the unit is running no funny noises but no air is coming through the vents inside the house. Any and all suggestions on how to fix what's wrong myself would be much appreciated. I'm low income and cannot afford to pay a service company.

Sounds like the outside unit is working fine. Is the fan in your furnace/blower running in the house? Is the thermostat set to "cool". Set the thermostat temperature lower and see if that works. Is the thermostat fan switch set to "auto" or "on"? Normally should be set to "auto". Flip the "fan" switch to "on" and see if your furnace/blower comes on. If it does not put it back to "auto". More likely the thermostat is is the problem.

if you have a pressure washer or even a water hose will do, try washing the unit on the outside, after it dries out use Wd40

Yes that is correct. You want to give the unit time to dry as well, before turning it on again.

Sometimes, things get stuck on the components from outside elements. So it could just be an easy fix. I hope so.

somethings to check https://www.reddit.com/r/HomeImprovement/comments/4xiwu3/ac_fan_runs_but_no_air/ Are the filters clean? is the fan on "on" thermostat? not just "auto"

If you did check everything I suggested and everything seems to work. Fan on outside unit running, compressor humming, inside blower running, thermostat set to cool, thermostat fan switch to "auto". AC lines to out side unit no frozen. Furnace filter clean, Then you will need to have an HVAC pro.

Hosing the outside unit is for cleaning. Has nothing to do with the operation. Thermostat should be on "auto" so the inside blower turns on when there is a call for heat or AC.
