Replace your filters in heaters and air conditioners. Lay out a bowl of white vinegar all day if possible,. Clean your blinds, window sills and base boards with soap and water. Sprinkle baking soda on your carpet and leave for about an hour or longer then vacuum it up.
Not an easy task!! We just renovated a home that is now our home, that a smoke owned. We removed all the trim and flooring and part of the plaster. What was left I used BIN shellac primer on to seal. I also had the ductwork cleaned and sanitized. Every so often I'll get a whiff of cigarette smoke when the exhaust fan has been running a long time. It seems to pull it out of the walls.
Every time I clean my mirrors, they end up having tons of streaks and almost look worse than before I started. What could I use to clean them that won't leave streaks...
