Here are multiple projects on the subject. You might want to also invest in a mat for the bottom of the oven. Just don't line with aluminum foil (old school) because it will ruin newer ovens.

Janice....Make a paste out of dish washing liquid, baking soda and salt adding a little water. Apply and let sit for several hours, even overnight. Use sponge or scrub brush. I have now purchased the non stick oven liner that catches spills, etc. and love it. I don't mind cleaning oven but I despise cleaning the racks! Good luck!
I mixed a paste of baking soda and white vinegar, and let it sit overnight. I wiped it off with a damp rag. It works.
