How to unglue glass table top from chromed steel table legs?

Glass 10mm thick.Glued surface=4 50mm diamcircles. Would heat on circles crack glass?

  • I would think a hairdryer or heat gun will soften the glue, just dont heat it up too much and melt the rubber.

    Are you sure it's just not stuck? They don't usually glue glass to a chrome base. Try a little harder to pull off. Don't use heat gun near glass. Hair dryer ok.

    If it is tempered glass, you could try a hair dryer. Just make sure you have the glass warm so that the temperature difference won't cause it to crack. Hold it so the heat hits the edges around the leg tops and loosen them one at a time if you can and get rid of the disk or glue that is under it so that it doesn't restick itself when it cools.

    I got it.Cut a circle in thin cardboard.Glued that around metal leg circles.left to part dry.Then heated glass other side of circles,then slipped paintscraper between cardboard and glass.then gently tapped around metal circle keeping heat on glass'

    Off it came !!!!Thanks for suggestions
