How do I cover a fence that my dog is scratching up?

Plant a fast growing vine to provide privacy and block your dogs view.

What kind of fence is it? who was there first, him & antlers or your dog?? Aw poor dog, must be driving your dog nuts! Buy your dog some deer/elk antler to chew on maybe it will help?? try to buy in bulk you'll need them Ebay is cheapest,you can get them many places online. When your neighbor is gone spray the antlers with peppermint oil ??? or try it on fence itself you'll need to check dogs feet periodically to make sure it doesn't irritate or burn his paws. HHMMMM.....Could end up in/on somekind of "evil neighbor reality show". Too bad he's not really nice(doesn't sound very empathetic,compassionate) and would seal them with spray sealer/laquer.Does he hunt or just foraged/gathered them? Offer/ask to buy some of his for your dog to chew on. Not too much to do to keep dog off of fence unless you install/change it to cinder block walls.You could get electric fence line installed just inside the fence that is there already,only for very last solution;personally I think they are cruel. If it becomes a safety issue for your dog such as.....dog getting hurt on existing fence or guy wanting to poison your dog might need to resort to it.

If you take them down, the nasty neighbor will know you did the deed, so I wouldn't do that. Probably the easiest solution would be to change the odor to something that is strong enough that the antler scent isn't noticeable, but you will have to recoat frequently. I would spray the antlers when the neighbor is not at home, also spray the fence around where they are on your side of the fence to further disguise the scent. I would plant something with nasty stickers, like raspberries or black berries, etc. that may discourage your dog from getting close to the fence and will provide a barrier past it for good measure. If the fence is wood, something like peppermint oil would perhaps get into the wood and last a while.
