How to remove paint from trunk?
I have a antique immigrants trunk. Someone painted over the lettering on the top. Is there a way to remove some of the paint without damaging the lettering underneath.

If it's latex paint and lettering is oil, denatured alcohol removes latex and doesn't harm oil. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
I’m afraid it’s oil base cause I have tried the denatured alcohol. Why anyone would paint over history like this is beyond me. Thanks for ur time.
