Avis, I can find no info on putting tile on cabinets. You might paint them to look like tile, because real tile would be so heavy for them. Maybe it would be better to find a tile you like and apply it to your countertops or backsplash, then paint your cabinets with a color that goes well with the new tile. Let us know what you choose.
Hello Avis, hope this helps you out. The wooden, or more likely veneered, side of a cabinet will not provide the necessary support for tile on its own. For this reason, add a layer of 1/4-inch cement board cut to the dimensions of the side of the cabinet.
