How to prevent rust in dryer and washer?

Clean the rust off, then paint with porcelain paint. It comes in little bottles made for appliances. When done washing & drying clothes, cover the machines with a heavy tarp.

Appliance paint! Clean and remove rust first. Any paint store or home improvement center will have what you need. Mine are in my garage too, but I am in zone 9 where it is hot and very dry most of the year. Rusting caused by moisture.

You have too much moisture in your garage. Once you repaint, apply a couple of coats of car wax.

Rustoleum makes a great rust remover. When clean use Appliance paint to cover the rust.
