How do I trim a shrub the best?

    It depends upon the shrub. Can you post a picture or do you know the name of it? If you can't, the rule of thumb is not to cut more than 1/3 of the shrub at a time or you may shock it.

    depends where you live(this is world wide site),climate(does it freeze,tropical,desert),and what the shrub is(flowering?deciduous(looses leaves goes dormant) or evergreen?)we need additional info. to really help you.

    It depends on so many things, mainly what type of plant it is, whether it loses its leaves or is an evergreen, and others. Do your research or take a photo to a nursery and ask them for advice. Most plants require pruning either at the beginning of the growing season or at the end, with cuttings located at a joint.
