More Gardening Going on

The upper terrace this morning after over seven inches of rain overnight! Everything is green and lush and the moss on the flagstones is at it's best. My garden is basically a texture garden, with an abundance of variegated hostas and other plant material. A woodland garden which after many years of plotting and planning requires very little maintenance.
Because this part of the garden is an easterly exposure it stays shaded till late afternoon. It is a great place to sit and relax.
The planters filled with oak leaf hydrangea, maiden hair ferns do very well. I do add some colour to the pots, mostly white, lavender and soft pinks, colours which suit the shade.
The Madonna lilies opened up this morning in another part of the garden. These were planted two seasons ago.
They actually encircle the lower terrace and their scent near the seating here is very appreciated!
I try to add plants with variegated leaves, the white and green is more prominent and showy in a shade garden.
The porcelain vine in the foreground is looking very lovely this year. I am training it up an obelisk near the back door.
Orange mint, caladiums and ferns, my choice for this planter this year.
Ajuga Black Scallop, maidenhair ferns and jasmine vine in this planter by the lower terrace so far, just lovely foliage and no flowers on the jasmine. Would love to use it in some wedding work coming up!
This is the only hydrangea with blooms on it this summer. After our extremely cold winter, the buds on most did not survive; however, all the others have rebounded and are doing fine. Beautiful foliage, no blooms.
I hope you enjoyed my rainy garden tour today! N.
