What kind/brand of paint should I use on my high traffic floors?

If there’s really plywood under the pad, then it will need to be primed & then painted with porch/patio/deck paint.

If it’s a Masonite type of high density fiber board, then make sure it’s a sealing-primer.

If it’s Oriented Strand Board, you’ll not like how porous it is and how impossible it will be to clean it, even after it’s primed and painted. In this case, you’ll have to go to a pro paint store, not a DIY Big Box store and see what they can sell you to fill the deep recesses that does not have high VOC’s.

In all cases, you’ll discover pet stains and possibly mold under the pad. You’ll have popped nails and places that need wood filler or printable caulk.

Be prepared to address them & the release of the “organics” into your IAQ.

This is a very messy job. Expect the baseboards to get scratched in the removal process.

Well they sell paint made just for floors but the colors are somewhat limited. I’d first prime the floors and then use a good quality latex paint tinted to your choice and then after it has dried overnight put a top coat sealer. It should last a long time that way.
