It depends on where it's going and how you expect it to perform and what the existing wall is like. Are you looking at ceramic, composite or plastic "tiles"?

It’s going up on Sheetrock in the kitchen behind the stove and granite counter tops

We applied "peel & stick" vinyl tiles to our bathroom floor during a remodel. We had a smooth plywood underlayment with the seams coated. The tiles went down nicely and people thought it was real tile. It was the heavy-duty thick tiles that we got at Home Depot for about $1 each.

A Big Nuisance in multicolored patterns because the Goons in Quality Control for some reason believe 11.95"=12.05" rather than: a Persistency of Rotation of 11.95×12.05 may be acceptable as a Substitute for 12×12.

And when you are doing something like White for beneath the Kitchen Table with a Brown Surround you end up with either or a Combination of both:

    A. The .1 inch Between the White Tiles

    B. Overlappages or malignments on the Surround

So you really gotta watch this .05 inches or it will indeed get away from you.

As with many diy home decor products, there is with peel and stick tiles a range of qualities available. If you are going to put the time into the project, I would urge you to not be lured by low price only. Buy higher quality, as there is more of a chance that the results will be durable and longer lasting.
