How often does potting soil need to be changed in house plants?

    Depending on the Plant and the size of pots you should not have to change the soil until it gets roots or rootbound in pot coming out of the holes in bottom of planter. and when this happens you should put it in another pot next size bigger like from a six inch to a eight inch pot wide. depending on plant and size it will grow I do not know what you have to fully answer this? Just add a little bit on top as it lowers but the top of rootball should be at least 1 inch lower than top of pot so you do not smother the stem of the plant.
