How can I redo my bathroom wall?

I was going to replace the toilet today and after I pulled it I decided I should do something with the wall behind it before I replace the toilet. As you can see there is wallpapers from the past that has to be removed no matter what I do. Since the wall isn’t square I was thinking vertical barn wood looking wallpaper. Has anyone used self stick wallpaper in a bathroom and did it actually stay stuck ?the walls are not square or I would attempt real wood.
If you have good ventilation to remove excess moisture, it should be fine. Check the brand recommendations.
Self stick will come off from the steam use paper you need to put glue on or do a stencil that looks like wood it is done with a special roller
use peel n stick flooring tiles that look like wood
Wallpaper that you glue on will be more likely to stay in place than peel and stick. I've had great luck with painting the adhesive on the wall first.
You could get a large picture frame and fill it with reclaimed would...
Here is what I did. This gives you a before and after look.
I have used tack paper in the shower and after 3 years it has not peeled. So I say use tack paper it comes in wood grain as well as the granite that I used in my shower.
I too used granite looking contact paper in my shower and still great after3 years. I used wood grain look on the walls. It’s all great. Be sure it is the stuff made with pvc and it is rather speedy but goes on sale frequently on amazon
Paint the entire wall with a color that will complement the beige/tan. Then keep checking local thrift stores, Good Will for a large rectangular print, that fills in that area ( about the width of the toilet tank) If you don’t like the frame color, spray paint it. If you don’t care for the print, paint over it, and DIY your own art.
You should be able to easily remove that old leftover wallpaper by sponging the area with warm water and peeling or scraping off the old paper. Then paint and decorate to your taste--maybe a piece of art??
