Touching flat black paint leaves a mark
I painted a dresser flat black. Every time I touch it I leave a mark how can I fix this?
When you do be careful not to get any paint on the black light itself. Take a few extra minutes and mask of the black light so you only get paint on the frame itself. I have never heard of anyone having a black light in their kitchen before how is that working for you? Do you have other sources of light as well?
Oh I am sorry I thought you meant black lights like that were popular in the 80's and used to enhance posters and such. Sorry! I tend to take things very literally.
To get the best finish go are going to need to do a very good job at protecting the part of the light you don't want to get paint on. Use painters tape and newspaper to cover those parts perfectly and spray paint to change the frame color.
To determine what color to paint the frame consider what other colors you have in your home. Either an accent color or a color that compliments others you are using.
Very light coats of paint will give you the best end product. I just spray painted some picture frames a few days ago. I ended up applying 5 coats of paint but did so in very fine mist like coats. The project took a while but the final outcome was great. Well worth the extra time. I just needed to be patient (not my strong suit).
