Elaine: This is actually a pretty easy project! Take off cupboard doors/hardware (painting over hinges looks like an amateur job!) Label backs of doors with location -- to make re-installation much easier.
Clean them with a degreaser. I simply used Windex. PRIME! (don't miss this step.) Then apply two coats of a GOOD latex paint! Reassemble kitchen.
Treat the cabinets gently for a few weeks -- to allow the paint to "cure."
