How do I lighten up my dark basement?
Our basement has very old fashioned paneling that is very rustic with deep grooves. Is there anything short of drywall that we could place over the existing paneling that would lighten up a dark basement? Many years ago I had heard of a wallpaper that would do this but can't find anything like this. Any suggestions?

We painted ours, love the texture and it looks great.
You can wallpaper over paneling, but painting might be easier.
