I'd like to remove a non working , ugly , old wall heater unit that is taking up wall space in my living room. The other side of the wall is a small hallway and the wall heater unit is just in the way..and it's ugly πŸ˜•. This will make the living room look better and give the hallway a wider feel 😊. Please help.

Ensure the power is off (or gas if applicable). The cover should come off so it can be cleaned. You should see mounting screws inside. Remove them and take unit out. Repair any wall area.

    Hi Sirena,

I agree with Ken, but don't forget to cap off the gas or electrical lines properly before you repair the wall area. Wishing you the best.

You also should know that if you are capping off electrical or gas lines, you will need to leave an access panel for code reasons. You can NEVER just cap off electrical and/or Gas lines and seal them in a wall cavity. Very dangerous. If you are not that familiar with this type of work, please seek professional licensed help.

Ken and Muggy are correct. Remove the front panels and unscrew the the unit from the wall. If you could disconnect the gas line and electrical from the wall you can patch and repair the wall. Otherwise you can't seal the wall with gaas line and electracal in place. Against all codes.
