Looking for Americana inspiration for this window from a 1920’s home I picked up for free using this size star. As far as the star, use a decal, paint or what? It’ll be hung on a wall. It’s a surprise for my wife.
Hi Jim: Wow, she is going to be surprised:) What I think I might do is paint the frame dark blue and turn it sideways. Then I'd either make, or try to find, an old American or Confederate flag to put under the glass and hang the star on one corner, probably lower right, so that the middle of the star is on the corner of the frame. If you put 4 finishing nails on the corners, about 1/4", in the back so that the frame is lifted up, you can paint the edges without them sticking to the paper or whatever you are using underneath the frame when you paint. Once dry, remove the nails. Makes for a neater finish. And, if you'd like, you can distress the frame to make it look old. Good luck:)
I was thinking red and white stripes painted on the glass. Paint the star blue, the add little white stars over the blue. Attach the blue star somewhere over the stripes. I'd play around with it, til you like the placement. Or just have fun with it. I'm sure she's gonna love anything you've put so much time and love in to! I know I would,! Good Luck!

Although I’m not going to attach the star to the window, I have several six panes windows where I can use your recommendations.

Yeah, aren't they great?????
You are so very thoughtful, good luck with your gift, your wife will be thrilled.
Thank you. She knows I’m doing the project but doesn’t know what it going to involve.
