How to remove rust stains on white laminate?

My neighbour's dog peed on her white laminate flooring and she didn't notice right away. There is now a rust stain where he peed. She's afraid to use any aggressive method to remove the rust stain in case she damages the finish.

Bar Keepers Friend is great for rust stains and is gentle on surfaces.

  You mean the liquid one? She is afraid to use anything too abrasive or strong in case she messes the finish.

  The liquid kind would be less abrasive. Does she have a less visible place to test a cleaner on the floor like behind a door?

Rust shouldn’t be in the dog’s pee. So the questions are:
is it really rust? Is there rust dust all over the floor and the pee activated it? What is the stain, if not rust?
if it’s rust, then use a laundry rust removal, like Wink.

  I think the ammonia in the pee reacted with the finish.
