As long as they aren't poisonous, leave them alone. They eat mites and all sorts of undesireable things.

Spiders like moisture and they like bugs to eat. Take care of those things first.

How Big are they? Daddy Long Legs are not a problem, their incisors can’t pierce our skin.

    All others are a problem.

I would fumigate every 2 weeks with Raid Fumugator ($13 for 3 cartridges), for 3x, to break the mating cycle, after the humidity is reduced in the house, basement, Crawlspace & attic.

Don’t cheap-out on spiders. They can hold their breath. Even in the washing machine.

Put tooth brushes, Kleenex, toilet paper, salt & pepper shakers in the oven. Nothing edible nor living (plants, fish) can stay in the house, put the covers way over the top of the bed pillows. If you’ve children or elderly, make sure their clothes are protected from the fumigation. I’d cover the toaster and anything else that touches your mouth indirectly.

With this fumigation product, you’ve 45 seconds to place it and walk out of the room. So start at the back of the house and have newspapers or something under the high spot you park the cartridges on.

Come back in 3+ hours and air out the house. If you can’t air out the house, wait 5 hours.

Vacuum and clean, to gather stunned eggs before they hatch.

  • I just sweep them up on a dustpan and take them outside. People have good luck with peppermint oil. Be careful if you have pets when using essential oils. I have pets so they catch most of them, but I do need to be mindful as we have a lot of black widows in the area.

  • We use this spray in conjunction with our swiffer and it helps to keep spiders and other buggies at a minimum. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
