How do I update this ceiling fan?

This room has a warm, cozy, little bit rustic feel to it. I really don't want to paint over the body of fan - I like the silver. Yet I want to change the blades and lights. Any suggestions? Accent wall is painted coral. You can see the color of the other 3 walls. Plus I definitely need low low budget🙂 Any ideas would be helpful thank you

Paint the blades, after cleaning them.

The lights may be hard to change, but it depends on how they attach.

A totally new fan can be bought for $75 on sale.

Spray paint the blades and lights with a hammered bronze paint. Cover the white lamp part with wrapped twine.

For one thing there must be a way to change the light fixture if replacing is not what you want to do.

You can search on Hometalk for ideas on how to change the look of your fan blades. There are some very neat ideas

With that large solid chrome base, i would just spray paint the blades. The design balance could be thrown way off if you replace with blades that are not like these...it would all look awkward. If you want it to recede (not be as noticeable) ..with just the chrome, spray them ceiling white and see how it looks with just the white and chrome (the lights may no longer bother you) Do you need the lights? Or could you light the room another way? I'm sure you can completely remove the lighting part and find a cover fixture (that could be painted white or chrome if you can't find one that works in the right color) Good luck.

Well thank you. You can spray paint even the chrome.i didn’t say that initially. Just making it all the white of the blades on the other side. Would not make a decor statement at all and not conflict with your less “modern/space age”decor. Haha.

The blades are two sided it looks like in the picture. So, just remove them and flip them over. The light fixture is actually very nice, but it would look better if you just remove the white glass cylinders. They probably just unscrew, and you may even be able to add another type of glass

That is exactly what I did!! Im going to leave the white glass off for now- I'm sure I will run across an idea. Didn't spend any money- just some cleaning n patience with those tiny screw😊

Hey! That’s the right way to save money and time. 😆

I love your ceiling fan very much. Are you installing the ceiling fan in a low ceiling room? As for upgrading the ceiling fan in a cheap way, replacing the blades or lights would be the practical option. I suggest using the warm white yellow bulb to create the cozy feeling. I think you can get more ideas in this site.
