County Extension Office.
Whatever state you live in should have a University that teaches agriculture. Contact them and see if they have a place you can send soil samples. Most use that as a teaching experience for their students. They can tell you what is needed for the type of grass you want.
In the USA you can call your local Agriculture department in your county and they can assist you. Look under local government in the phone listings and you should find them easily. They are happy to help and good for you getting it evaluated! It is most important to know no only the makeup but the ph balance also! Hope this helps, Karen.
Or just by a test kit from a nursery or home improvement center. There are home test kits and some you send to a lab. Not expensive.
Fertilize sales centers will sometime soil test for you if it appears that you may buy the needed fertilize from them. This test is usually done free of charge.
