Many sofas have tipoff covers on the cushions. Take them off and either have them cleaned or wash them in cold water, depending in the fabric. Line dry. Do not put through the dryer!

Replace the cushions if you can. If that's not possible, cover them with baking soda and set outside in the sun for a day or two. Shake off the soda, repeat if necessary.

Putting the cushions back in is not easy. Sometimes I've had to turn the cover inside out and "roll" them back over the cushions. Be patient. They will go back on.

Also possible to put a dry cleaner's plastic bag around the cushion to facilitate replacing cushion in the cover.

Try using an enzyme cleaner , first check on an unseen area to make sure it is color safe for your sofa ! This product " eats" natural waste like urine , feces , vomit and blood...It gets rid of it , not make the scent. It can be found at any let store.

  • You can have your sofa professionally cleaned and they do have solvents to use on urine areas. May be your best bet to get deep enough into the furniture.
