How can I give my cyclone fence some privacy for not a lot of money?

My neighbor's yard is over grown with junk trees and weeds and I don't want to look at it anymore and I need something inexpensive as it's pretty long! Thanks in advance!

You don’t want to put up anything ugly either! DIY your own trellis privacy screen. Do a section at a time of when you can afford it.

Plant the tall slender variety of Rose of Sharon. They grow quickly and as tall as 12 feet and about 3' wide. Plant them 3' apart and they will make a beautiful hedge. Caution! Don't mistakenly get the 6' wide variety..

We have a similar situation. We planted fast growing, evergreen Jasmine. We used 10’ rebar and pounded into the ground two feet deep near the posts of our fence(it was only 4’ tall). Then we strung wire across from post to post all the way down the run, at 12” vertical spaces so we had something for the vines to cling to as they grew higher, until we got to our desired 8’ tall. It’s beautiful and it only took one growing season to block the view. Another to completely fill in!

Check with your friends in your neighborhood to see if they have Jasmine or another fast growing vine for your area. You might even score some clippings to get you started. Rebar is pretty inexpensive and you could use twine instead of wire.

    Good luck!
