Can I repaint aluminum siding?

The paint on my aluminum siding has peeled off in spots on my garage. I would like to have it repainted but don't know how to do it. The side facing the summer sun is the worst. There is about 2 feet of snow around it right now so can't really send a picture.

Last year a painter gave me a quote for doing my AL siding. First he would powerwash all, then days to dry then paint. Good luck.

You definitely need to use a paint designed specifically for aluminum but should also use a primer. Talk to your paint expert at the store, she/he will guide you on this but be sure to get the UVA protection bks u face the son. My recommendation, however comes with using a paint sprayer. You can buy these as little as $15. I bought a $65 version and I love it for so many projects. After prepping (cleaning, scraping, sanding, cleaning, drying) my son painted our 3-car garage doors in less than an hour. It gets in nooks and nannies very easily. No brush strokes!
