Dissolve some powdered dishwasher soap--like Cascade--in warm water. Let the blanket soak in it until you see the stain disappearing. Rinse well and wash normally.

Keep in mind the dishwasher dry soap sometimes bleached.. So b careful if the blanket is multi colored or even solid color ... May fade ... Try using as a paste (w/toothbrush) in the stained area only ... First ... I usually only soak ALL whites in cascade ... Very bright results ..

  • Try dawn dish soap and baking powder.

I have found that OXY Clean will take out set in stains very nicely. Just take a toothbrush and dip in the powder and scrub the stain. Let it soak for a while then wash it in your machine. It may take a couple of times. You can buy a no name brand at the dollar store and I think it works just as good. It comes in small plastic containers and for a dollar it is worth it. Good Luck with your blankie.
