How can I recover a sectional recliner sofa? This is my first time doing this. What type of fabric should I use? What are the specific steps to take? I would like the color to be gray. Thanks for any help. Tonya

Buy Upholstery Fabric. If you are able to strip the piece carefully you could write on the back where they came from and use them for a pattern for new fabric.
You can buy books on upholstery and you may even be able to attend a class.
Olivia is right that reupholstering a sofa is complicated job requiring experienced skills and precise tools (including a pneumatic stapler and a sewing machine) in order for the result to have longevity and durability.
It is not an easy diy project by any means.
Perhaps you could get by with a purchased slip cover until you can save up to eithor buy a new sofa, or have the old one reupholstered by a professional.
